Candied Bacon
Candied bacon is one of my favorite salad toppings, especially when paired with chimichurri and fresh Texas peaches. See the image on the left: steak, arugula, microgreens, peaches, chimichurri, and candied bacon.
Ingredients

- 1 Packet of Bacon
- 1 Jar of Sweet/Spicy Jelly [I like Round Rock Jelly]
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Cayenne, to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°.
Place a wire rack over a baking sheet (I like to line the sheet with parchment paper or foil).
Lay each strip of bacon out on the rack.

Dollop small amounts of jam onto each piece of bacon, and brush evenly.

Add salt, pepper, and cayenne (to taste). Flip and repeat steps 4 and 5 on the other side.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until desired texture is achieved.
